Kat

Dr. Kat Waldron, DVM – Veterinarian

Dr. Kat Waldron is the most recent member to join the Acton Team.
For as long as Kat can remember she has wanted to be a veterinarian. Growing up in Kingston, Ontario with her parents, and her younger brother, she was always begging her family for a pet. When her family got their first dog, a golden retriever named Amber, she was ecstatic and her love and passion for animals continued to grow.
After graduating from high school Kat moved to Guelph to study Biomedical Science at the University of Guelph. She kept a hand in veterinary medicine by spending the summers working at a clinic back home and volunteering at the Ontario Veterinary College during the school year.
In 2014 Kat’s dream of being a veterinarian came true when she graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College. During her veterinary medicine studies, Kat focused her attention on small animal medicine and surgery, knowing that she wanted to work with companion animals. Her studies lead to the development of personal interests in rehabilitation, internal medicine and nutrition.
Despite always wanting to work with cats and dogs, Kat also experienced working with large animals, spending a summer in the large animal wards at the O.V.C.
When not working, Kat likes to run and is a member of the Guelph Running Room. She has even completed her first half marathon. She also enjoys horseback riding and grew up with her horse named Ginger. She currently shares her home with her husband Jeff, Golden Retriever Zoe, as well as two cats.
Kat looks forward to building a relationship with each of her patients as well as their owners personally.
